There’s no moment Zambia has been deeply entrenched in tribal politics as today since 1964 with President Hakainde Hichilema emerging as chief priest of the practice.
This afternoon President Hichilema has made six appointments with majority of those appointed being his tribesmen and women.
Zambia’s foreign mission has seen an unprecedented rise of tribal appointments with nearly 80% of staff either Tonga or Tonga related.
The president’s tribe is only made up of less than 15% of the total Zambian population.

1.Zambia’s ambassador designate to Ethiopia Albert Mudenda Muchanga-Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (Federal Former Ambassador to Ethiopia, former Commissioner for Trade and Industry in the eight-member African Union Commission – TONGA)
2. Prof. Gerry Nkoombo Muka, UAE (former academic from Murray University, USA and current Deputy Counsel General, UAE – TONGA
3. Ms Grace Mutembo, High Commissioner designate South Africa (Eng. Grace Mutembo was recently removed as former CEO of Zambia’s Road Development Agency (RDA) Non-Tonga)
4. Abdon Liston Mawere-Russian Federal (Abdon Listone Mawere was recently removed as the Commissioner for Refugees in the Ministry of Home Affairs) Non-Tonga).
5. Eugene Moonga-Director Policy Implementation, Monitoring and Coordination Policy Analsysis Cabinet Office – TONGA.
6. Muyambango Nkwemu- Policy Analyst, Cabinet Office – LOZI (Zambezi).
