The family of the late Sixth Republican President, Dr. Edgar Chagwa Lungu, has dismissed State House sponsored reports as false suggesting that his remains had been taken to Spain.
Speaking when contacted for a comment, the family described the report, carried by a named publication, as “fake news,” adding that they would not dignify it with a response.
The family has urged members of the public to ignore the misinformation and rely only on credible sources for updates regarding the late head of state.
Kalemba, which is managed by State House advisor Jito Kayumba, published a report that the remains of president Lungu had been transported to South Africa as the stand-off between the family and the government drags.
