A resident of Kasama, Bwalya Sebele, has appealed to the Ministry of Home Affairs to redo the recently conducted mobile national registration exercise.
Sebele says the exercise was poorly executed, with some areas particularly remote parts of the district not adequately covered.
He warns that if the exercise is not repeated, many eligible citizens may be marginalized, as they will lack the National Registration Cards (NRCs) required to obtain voters’ cards ahead of future elections.
Sebele has since called on the government and other stakeholders to intervene and push for the ministry to return and properly carry out the registration exercise.
