Lusaka Mayor Chilando Chitangala has attributed the poor performance of Lusaka in utilizing Constituency Development Fund -CDF to frequent contract cancellations due to non-delivery of goods and services.
This follows concerns raised by Local Government Minister Gift Sialubalo, through Ministry Permanent Secretary Nicholas Phiri on the low utilization of CDF, warning that the province risks facing consequences if it does not improve its CDF utilization.
Chitangala has acknowledged that Lusaka Province has not performed well in utilizing CDF.
She has however clarified that Lusaka District, which is one of the seven districts making up the province, performed extremely well in the first half of the year compared to previous years.
