Court: Is ECL Zambian government’s body or family’s body?
Ubuteko: It’s family’s body.
Court: Did ECL die in the hands of Zambian government or in the hands of his family?
Ubuteko: In the hands of his family.
Court: Is the Zambian government that facilited ECL’s trip to SA?
Ubuteko: It’s himself.
Court: All the months ECL was in hospital, what did the Zambian government do to help ECL as former president.
Ubuteko: Nothing
Court: Who wants ECL body to be buried in Zambia?
Ubuteko: it’s the Zambian people.
Court: Who are those Zambian people?
Ubuteko: Many Zambians.
Court: You can’t mention them or give the Court the names?
Ubuteko: No we can’t.
Court: Why did the president cancel the national mourning?
Ubuteko: Because he didn’t want the funeral to prolong.
Court: So blocking ECL burial was not prolonging?
Ubuteko: It is your Honour.
Court: Which Zambian Law are you using to grab the body from the ECL family?
Ubuteko: There’s no Law, your Honour ECL was the former president.
Court: Are you aware that your government stripped off all his benefits and entitlements as the former president?
Ubuteko: Yes your Honour, because he went back to politics.
Court: so he died as an ordinary Zambian and your political opponent, not so?
Ubuteko: Your Honour , he was the president.
Court: Your government stripped off all his benefits and entitlements because he went back to politics, but here you are recognizing him as the former, you didn’t take care of him as former president when he was here in hospital, he didn’t die in the hands of government, and you want his body, why?
Ubuteko: Because he was the former president.
Court: Is there anything wrong to respect family’s decision?
Ubuteko: Your Honour, there’s nothing wrong.
Court: But why are you here in Court, why don’t you respect LUNGU family decision?
Ubuteko: Because he was the former president.
