The suspicous shooting of Zambia Army senior officer Brig Gen John Banda is raising alarm in the
Reports indicate that Brig Gen Banda was shot at while in the company of another woman at Crossroad Mall in Lusaka.
The senior army officer is admitted to UTH.
Information gathered indicate that Gen Banda is among the officers being forced to retire after the dismissal of Lieutenant General Dennis Sitali Alibuzwi.
As late as two weeks ago, state emissaries, once again, offered him to retire in exchange for a diplomatic postings.
He declined stating that he was pursuing local personal projects and studies.
He has served as Director General, Training Branch Army.
He also served as command of Zambatt. He commanded the Zambatt 3 contingent of Zambian forces in a peacekeeping mission, including pre-deployment training alongside US and British instructors.
