President Hakainde Hichilema has sent former Zambia Army commander Dennis Alibuzwi to Brazil as ambassador.
President Hichilema has also sworn in Shadreck Mbewe as Commissioner of Lands.
Lieutenant General Sitali Dennis Alibuzwi was a few month ago retired.
Also sworn in is Mahuba Wesley Hazemba as Zambia’s Ambassador to the State of Israel and Brigadier General Wilson Chikwalamba Tembo as High Commissioner to the Republic of Zimbabwe.
“These officers, appointed on behalf of the people of Zambia, carry a solemn responsibility to uphold the public trust. They are expected to place the interests of the nation above personal gain and to discharge their duties with the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
“Our foreign policy rests on two mutually reinforcing pillars: peace, security, and stability on one hand, and economic diplomacy on the other. The newly appointed diplomats must skillfully balance and advance these priorities in service of the Zambian people,” he said.
President Hichilema has also urged the Ministry of Lands to urgently streamline its processes to enhance efficiency and deliver timely, transparent, and dignified service to all citizens seeking access to land.
